
Matt Smith is a Partner of the Tavius Consulting Group. Drawing on his legal and academic experience, Mr. Smith works with a broad range of corporate and legal clients, providing negotiation and communication training and consulting services. He specializes in training executives to effectively communicate and negotiate with young employees that have recently entered the workforce.
Mr. Smith is a Lecturer on Law and Clinical Fellow at Harvard Law School, teaching a skills intensive negotiation course and working in the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program, which provides law students with hands-on experience in the fields of negotiation, dispute resolution, and conflict management. Prior to joining the Harvard Law School faculty, he was an attorney in the Los Angeles office of the law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP. His practice focused on white-collar defense, including the representation of clients in stock option backdating cases (involving both Security Exchange Commission and U.S. Attorneys’ Office investigations). He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and has a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He speaks conversational Croatian.
